Shawl Ministry

"You knit me in my mother's womb."  Psalm 139

Charisms
Craftmanship:  Inspired artistic or creative works that beautifies and/or orders the physical world.
Giving:  Giving with exceptional generosity to those in need.
Healing:  God uses me to cure illness or restore health where healing is unlikely to happen quickly or at all.
Hospitality:  Warmly welcoming and caring for those in need of food, shelter, and friendship.
Intercessary Prayer:  My prayer for others enables God's love and deliverance to reach them in specific, remarkable ways.
Mercy:  Practical deeds of compassion that comfort those who suffer and help them experience God's love.
Love to knit, crochet?  Want to learn?  This opportunity combines knitting, crocheting and fellowship with prayer.  The result is a shawl which is given to those in our midsts that suffer and struggle with difficult circumstances.  The basic shawl is based on a 3-stitch seed pattern.  The pattern of 3 symbolizes the Trinity: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  It is said that the number three is used 523 times in scripture!  When the shawls are completed they receive a final blessing before being sent on their way.

Shaw Ministry also participates in the "Warm Up American" program in which blankets are crocheted or knitted for the homeless.  All shawls and blankets receive a final blessing before being sent on their way.
