Sunday Nursery

Charisms
Hospitality:  Warmly welcoming and caring for those in need of food, shelter, and friendship.
Encouragement:  Nurtures or fosters others through presence and words of comfort, encouragement, and cousel.
Mercy:  Practical deeds of compassion that comfort those who suffer and help them experience God's love.
Service:  Seeing obstacles that keep good things from happening and doing whatever it takes myself to remove them.
Our Lady of Angels is committed to providing care during Sunday church services for its youngest members.  This ministry commits to: organize and maintain the Sunday Nursery; provide a safe environment for children during Sunday church services; and provide parishioners an opportunity to build an awareness of their community and cooperation through volunteerism and support.  Volunteers are scheduled to rotate during the year, excluding certain holidays.  The rotation schedule of volunteers is dependent upon the number of volunteers, infants and toddlers for each service.  Volunteers arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the church service to set out the sign-up sheet, toys and supplies and remain until the last child is picked up and the area is prepared for the next session.

  • Two adult volunteers are required at all times while children are in the nursery.  Other volunteers may be teen aides.
  • Nursery is available on a regular basis for each church service, except for the following weekend holidays: Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Christmas.
  • Parents using the nursery more than twice a year are encouraged to sign-up to volunteer in the nursery, and must be cleared through the "Safe Environment Program".
  • Parents/guardians must sign their children in and out.  Each child shall be identified to the volunteers and wear a name tag, so that the volunteers may easily identify each child.
